Description:
Here, SAMI is used to synchronize captions and images with the base media. This is particularly useful for Web presentations over a slow link (less than 150K baud) since it is more efficient to fetch and display a small set of images with a sound file than it is to continously stream video. To lessen the likelihood of a slide not being fetched in time, this demo uses 2 <IMG> tags. One <IMG> tag is displayed while the other is being loaded. As a rule-of-thumb, at least 1 second should be allowed for each 1K of the image size. So, if the image file size is 6K, it is best to allows 6 seconds for loading.
